The Parish Action Team was formed in early 2019 to bring the work of the Diocesan Synod more specifically to St. Ann Parish. The Synod identified three priorities for the Diocese:
The purpose of the Parish Action Team is to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit to establish parish priorities aligned to the Diocesan priorities. Then identify, author, and action specific goals for each priority to advance the parish in these areas.
One of the first actions of the team was to facilitate the creation of the “St. Ann Parish Family Prayer” to focus our journey in union with the Holy Spirit.
The team is currently working on a set of Priorities and Goals that span a three year window from mid 2019 - 2022.
Priority: Further Awaken the faith of the congregation and the parish community.
Goal 1: Obtain annual parishioner retreat attendance of at least 80 by December 31, 2022.
Goal 2: Host our own retreat with a minimum of 30 attendees by December 31, 2021.
Priority: Equip parishioners to more fully live the faith by nourishing spiritual growth.
Goal 1: Initiate a minimum of 4 new spiritual development opportunities by June 30, 2022.
In March 2020 the team helped form a Vocations Ministry for the parish with the focus of supporting vocations of all types and encouraging everyone to discern and live their vocational call in God’s plan of salvation.
Priority: Empower everyone to live the faith boldly and outwardly.
Goal 1: Document and share 50 personal witness stories of parishioners by June 30, 2022.
We all have a faith story that is uniquely ours, a deep personal encounter with God in a moment, a sequence of events, a thread through our life. Our faith story is very personal.
We are encouraging each other to live our faith boldly by reflecting on, capturing, and sharing our faith stories openly. As we witness to our faith we grow in relationship with God and each other.
On April 17, 2020 the first Faith Witness Story was published.
